Smoking Hot

A chipotle (chi-POHT-lay) is a smoke-dried jalapeño pepper. Chipotles impart a relatively hot & earthy spiciness to many dishes in Tex-Mex cuisine. In powder form, chipotles are used as an ingredient in barbecue sauces and hot sauces, as well as in chilies and stews. Chipotles are medium-hot and have a distinctively smoky flavor, so we named this one “Smoking Hot”. The heat can “sneak” up those unaccustomed to heat up to 10,000 Scoville Heat Units.
